On this day Ukraine also marks the Pr otection of Our Most Holy Lady\, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks\, as we ll as the anniversary of the creation of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA ). From ancient times\, Our Most Holy Lady was a patron of the Ukrainian C ossacks and all Ukrainian armed groups.\nThe defenders of Ukraine are not only military personnel\, both men and women\, but also everyone\, who\, t hrough their professional and public activities\, ensure the economic\, hu manitarian\, educational\, and informational protection of Ukraine. For ex ample\, volunteers\, both within our country and abroad\, who often at the cost of their own lives help the Ukrainian army\, providing it with techn ical equipment\, warm things clothing\, ammunition\, and medicine.\nWe inv ite you to honor the Defenders of Ukraine Day on October 8 - Sunday\, on t he grounds of Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church.\nWe ask everyone to take part in this event to remember and honor all those who at differen t times defended and are currently defending our sovereignty and territori al integrity.\nThe day will begin with Divine Liturgies in Ukrainian churc hes.\nAt 12:00 PM we invite you to the grounds of the Christ the King Ukra inian Catholic Church to:\n▪ recall the history and traditions of Ukrain ian defenders in different historical eras\, starting from the Cossack era to the modern Armed Forces of Ukraine\n▪ try the delicious food menu sp ecifically built for this event (more details will come later on in the ev ent updates)\n▪ listen to the songs of the time of the Ukrainian Insurge nt Army\n▪ participate in fundraising for defenders\nFacebook event: htt ps://fb.me/e/2T0lEyacC\nYour participation and support are very important. \nСлава Україні!\n14 жовтня 2014 президентсь ким указом започатковано День захисникі в і захисниць України.\nЧерез реформу цер ковного календаря в Україні з 2023 року св яткування перенесено на 1 жовтня.\nДата 1 жовтня обрана не випадково.
